Bachelor of Education (Arts)


Introduction

The Bachelor of Education (Arts) is a professional undergraduate programme designed to prepare students for careers in teaching and education leadership at the secondary school level. The programme equips future educators with strong subject matter expertise in the arts and humanities, combined with sound pedagogical knowledge and practical teaching skills.

Students specialize in teaching subjects; such as English, Kiswahili, History, Geography, Religious Studies, or Literature while also studying educational psychology, curriculum development, instructional methods, assessment and classroom management. Practical teaching experience through teaching practice placements forms a key component of the programme.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE and a Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) and above in teaching subjects (ENG/KIS/MAT/HAG/GEO/CRE/FRE/GER/BST))
